Bodegas Valdelana

Bodegas Valdelana, located in the picturesque village of Elciego, is not only known for its diverse wines and olive oils but also houses two museums in a 15th-century underground cellar. One of these museums is dedicated to the ethnography of the ancient civilizations of Rioja Alavesa, while the other highlights the challenges of wine production in the 19th century. Today, the winery's wines are distributed under four different brands in over 20 countries. The modern winery, completed in 2007, stands in perfect harmony with tradition, with the old facilities preserved in a 15th-century wine cellar museum. The Valdelana family has been producing wine in Elciego for fourteen generations, tracing their roots back to the Roman introduction of grapevines and olive trees to the region in the 1st century AD.
